چکیده

Abstract Background Human brucellosis is an infectious multisystem disease that varies in severity and clinical course. Bacteremia common; however, data on epidemiology management of Brucella bacteremia are scarce. The World Health Organization recommends using doxycycline with rifampicin or aminoglycoside for brucellosis. This study aims to compare the efficacy two treatment regimens (oral doxycycline/rifampicin ciprofloxacin versus IV gentamicin plus oral ciprofloxacin) bacteremia. Methods In this single-center, retrospective cohort study, we analyzed outcomes 93 adults confirmed from 2017 2020. diagnosis was based positive blood culture species. patients were divided into cohorts according regimen received IV). Blood negativity after four weeks cure rate at end therapy co-primary endpoints, while side effects secondary endpoints. Fisher's exact test Pearson's chi-square applied groups. SPSS version 23. A P-value < .05 considered significant. Results total cases enrolled, 64 (68.8%) being male, group mean age 44.3 ± 19.2 years. Overall, 37 (39.8%) regimen, 56 (60.2%) treatment. Follow-up both groups 90.3% (n=84) no difference between (87.5% (n=49) 94.6% (n=37); P= .348, respectively). overall 93.5% (n=87) combined, significant (91% (n=51) 97.3% (n=36); .397, Transaminitis (7.1% vs. 5.4%), vomiting (5.4% 8.1%), acute kidney injury (0% 2.7%) all reported groups, respectively, statistically (P =.590). No deaths over period. Conclusion Oral antimicrobial have same response rates patients. Disclosures All Authors: disclosures.

Daily oral versus pulse intravenous cyclophosphamide in the therapy of ANCA-associated vasculitis--preliminary single center experience.

The aim of the multicentric randomized trial CYCLOPS is to optimize the treatment of induction of remission in patients with generalized, but not immediately life-threatening ANCA (antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies) -associated vasculitis. This will be achieved by reducing the dose of cyclophosphamide by administering it as intermittent pulses. The lower cumulative dose will be very probabl...
